Description: This is the scan of the actual stamp, envelope, cover, card, or other item you will receive, accurately and conservatively graded and described. This lot is a "Make Offer" lot. Please see the WHITE PRINT below to understand the WHYs and HOWs of my "Make Offer" lots. PLEASE ADD MY NAME TO YOUR LIST OF "SAVED SELLERS" SO YOU CAN BE NOTIFIED WHEN I LIST EITHER NEW AUCTION LOTS OR NEW STORE ITEMS. SCOTT #PR9-32 SET OF 24 FACSIMILES, 1875 NEWSPAPER STAMPS SCOTT #PR9-32 SET OF 24 FACSIMILES, 1875 NEWSPAPER STAMPS Sometimes, Facsimiles take on a life of their own... especially if the legitimate items are so rare that most of us will never come within 100 miles of a real one. That can certainly be said for these. Many of the "real deal" stamps of this series are rare, and worth well over $1,000....each. There are many partial sets available; this is the whole group of 24. There are Facsimiles....and there are facsimiles. These are high-quality engravings. See the big scan. These have been cared for. Check out the backs. Only a few have been hinged.. Overall condition is good. Check out the perfs. Most have excellent perfs Only 1 or 2 are damaged. Centering is generally nice; only 1 or 2 off-center. There are other sets out there. On some, the word "Facsimile" is in all capital letters. These are mixed case. On some, Facsimile is in colored letters These are black. These also carry the word "FALSCH". The word has many shades of meaning, but in this instance, it means "not genuine". This can mean Forgery, Facsimile, etc. Of the many sets or partial sets I've seen on eBay, I haven't seen one marked both fACSIMILE and FALSCH. The term FALSCH appears to be printed in the same colors as the stamps for many (but not all), Of these. I must conclude that this set was put together in bits and pieces from different sources. The buyer knew what he was doing. My auctions focus on U.S. Postal Stationery. Postal History, First Day Covers, and other items of historical interest (plus occasional Stamps, Poster Stamps, Seals, Labels, Sports & Non-Sports cards, and Picture Post Cards)..... as well as occasional WHOLESALE lots for dealers in these areas. I'm a dinosaur on the internet, making my customers happy the old-fashioned way, just as I've done thru the mail since 1971. SATISFACTION is ALWAYS GUARANTEED! As an ASDA member (for 50+ years) I stand behind what I sell. Any item I fail to properly describe may be returned within 7 days for a full refund, plus shipping costs. EBAY currently collects Sales Tax for 30+ states, as well as NY. OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS, please don't ask me to misrepresent the value of your order so you can avoid import fees or the V.A.T.. "MAKE OFFER" LOTS: Many of the lots I sell are listed in some "Catalog" with a well-defined price, and thus are easy to list. However, some items of Postal History having unusual cancels, postage rates, usages, or supplementary markings, or various types of Errors/Freaks/Oddities or Advertising Messages are NOT listed in any catalog... and at that point, I throw up my hands, take a guess, and hope I'm in the right ballpark. In order to home in on a realistic price we can both live with, I use the "Make Offer" feature which eBay provides. I invite you to try this feature. It might actually be fun, and save you some money. I do, however, ask the following: 1. The system was designed by eBay for YOU to make the offer. Please don't write to me and ask me how much is the least I'll accept. 2. My software may automatically ACCEPT your offer, DECLINE your offer, or refer it to me for further consideration. 3. If an item doesn't sell during a 30-day listing, I'll probably re-list it, after taking a few percentage points off the price. You CAN wait until the price drops into your range... however, there MAY be another buyer out there who wants it just a little more than you do. ALL SMALL, "FLAT" SHIPMENTS - stamps, Cinderella Items, Postal Stationery, Postal History and First Dav Covers - will be shipped in a Calumet hard cardboard mailer. This mailer offers much greater protection than bubble wrap, and is only a little heavier and more costly to ship. Larger items will be shipped in corrugated mailers, tubes, or whatever is necessary.SHIPPING CHARGES are always reduced If you buy several lots. You should see a pop-up button somewhere saying "Request Total from Seller". Hit it...U.S. SHIPPING CHARGES for this item are $0.00 for a USPS First Class Package. Insurance and tracking are FREE.WORLDWIDE SHIPPING CHARGES for this item are roughly:$0.00 for an International First Class Package to Canada$0.00 for an International First Class Package to Mexico$0.00 for an International First Class Package to the rest of the world. A FINAL WORD - ABOUT MY SCANS: What you get will be BETTER than what you see! Computer scans often show darker or lighter areas which aren't on the actual item, and the larger the object to be scanned, the more areas will be affected. Plus, I scan using a "cover sheet" to hold the item in place, and the plastic cover can creates glare. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
