Not many people can say that …..Steranko signed a lot ..he was a great guy ! New York City …at 9 pm EST or later on AM ……Batman , coming out of the Bat cave , Star Trek 1966…and actually..1964 Munsters , Addams Family , Car 54 was a great one , My Three Sons…My Favorite Martian , Mayberry , And the Steranko Art Show in New York City Convention 1972 , 1974 …with ALL ……The Shadow oil paining s on Displayed .in the Art Room….by Steranko….he was the King …all Book Covers , were done on canvas…ALL the great artists were at the show…..as well…Burnie Hogarth (Tarzan ) ….Hal Foster (Prince Valiant) Jack. Kirby (smoking cigar ) young Mike Kaluta , young Bernie Wrightson , old Roy G Krenkel , I got them to autograph my book…and I have ALOT of …photos …sad how life has passed , these guys out ….not many left..aside from NEW people ….the art world is changing …Robert Lesser is a great old collector , who put out one of the best Buck’ Rogers hard cover books ever…..toys and ray guns , Rex Miller had a catalog and the king of catalogs was Ted Hake …I watched him grow….from the beginning ….hey ..recall HOWARD ROGROFSKI …if U do then U should consider your self a real old timer ….he advertised in the back pages of Marvel Comics ….just look …1964 1967 …he was very costly …I hope someday we ALL , will have a chance to watch the Color Interview on TV or VHS… with R.deSoto “Spider” pulp artist ....right Juka ….lights “…. camera “ ….action “ …ALL sound and film ….equipment provided for , from what…. Never worn , C ...PICTURES ... provided...last photo showing my ...newest purchase., .very hard to find item ...seldom found ...in this condition...and any hard core - shadow collector ,who knows the shape and size of the shadow PENCIL FLASH LIGHT will know , aside from the Master him self....who knows , what evil , lurks in the Hearts of Men , ..well we all know ...the SHADOW does ! The actual Shadow mechanical pencil light is again made for a Child much like the kid in …The movie Christmas Story ..keep that in mind …so all super hero radio show s were directed to children..Added for your pleasure …..look at this ..I only wish this was my collection ….but again IT is NOT…… Allbright 2 "AA" cell lights made about 1936 It did not take long for the flashlight companies to discover that the flashlight was more than a toolbox item. Starting about 1925 the country was introduced to the the Art Deco style. Everything that was mechanical was now being decorated in an Art Deco style. Chief among the flashlights were the lights made to go in a lady's purse or gentleman's pocket. Many have held up in surprisingly good condition due to their limited use. Allbright 2 "AA" size lights. Allbright made a few larger lights, but they seemed to specialize in the small or unusual. The light on the left is a 2 "AAA" cell anodized aluminum model made in France. The light on the right is unmarked but is probably made in the United States. Both were probably made during the 1930s. A great group of 1940 USALite pocket flashlights in Catalin plastic. They use 2 "AA" cells. 1937 Eveready Pocket Spot-Lite, model #215, was a superbly designed pocket light. It used 2 "AA" cells. These are the only two colors made. The Gem-Lite was made about 1933 through 1935 and used 2 "AA" cells. Considering that these are 65 plus years old, they have remained in fairly nice condition. Note that the bottom lip varies in shape. Gem-Lite most likely made these for other companies and changed them slightly to differentiate them from their own designs. Gem-Lites originally came with a solid glass bulb.Burgess made Snaplites begining about 1928. Note that the bulb is mounted differently than Gem-Lites. The first model has a simple standard design (not shown). In 1929 they added the model 2 that offered a few variations in finish. Some resembled leather and could be imprinted with a company's name (again, not shown). About 1930 they started making these superb Art Deco purse lights. The dog in the above left group resembles "Asta", the detective's dog in the "Thin Man" series of movies starring William Powell and Myrna Loy.More Snaplites and a very rare Snaplite - The 1929 "Light's Golden Jubilee, 1879-1929". This was made to honor the 50th anniversary of the electric light bulb, invented by Thomas Edison. This is the Chase Airalite made in 1932. It used 2 "AA" cells. Note the nice black enameling highlights on the nickle body. It originally cost one dollar and was advertised as being like jewelry. Chase was a large brass company, specializing in brass sheet and pipe. The owner's son wanted to enter the consumer goods business so he created the "Specialties" line (1930-1942). This dates their lights to this 12 year period. There are many varieties of Chase lights, but I think that this is the best looking one SHADOW generic MECHANICAL PENCIL FLASHLIGHT .....is good example , of a hard to find item ….all the same…. Hat was purchased ...with other costume s …lost in space …years ago…. The shadow ....Adult VERSION.... hat with cape…. had a larger shadow Hat … ….. when that was offered... on open market, AND... in costume stores , 1994… THIS was offered .after the Shadow Movie …. Collections were I found the Shadow Club member ….stamped his books…..God that was just a thrill , to find that stamped in the cheap …Ideal books from 1931 ….much like BSA ……who knows what that is ? Come on ….Boy Scout s of America ….u know Y the patches are worth 1000.00 s ..because the tribe or group would get ready to break apart ..move out of the area , and the Uniform Patches were Torn Off …and thrown into the 🔥 Fire ….The group was getting busted up…but the memories would last for ever !
