The bronze has preserved all the fine details of the game piece, including the castle structure, the bomb in 3D relief, and even the wood grain of the game piece is permanently preserved. This is a one of a kind bronze Stratego Bomb game piece, you will not find another like it, and makes for an awesome addition to any vintage game collection or as a stand alone art piece. The original Stratego game piece was produced from wood in 1961 and 1962 by Milton Bradley, an American toy manufacturer (before later being made from plastic). These are solid bronze objet d'art small sculptures that I've developed through the ancient technique of lost wax casting. They have the potential to last many thousands of years (the oldest found cast bronze objects are nearly 6,000 years old). I consider my bronze cast objects satirical art pieces because I am taking vintage wooden and plastic toys that were intended for kids to play with temporarily and then become lost or discarded, and were intentionally produced to not last very long, then turning them into permanent objects that can last millennia. It humors me that these temporary contemporary toy objects cast into solid bronze might last for thousands of years and could give someone in the distant future a small peek at the childhood culture of our time. In fact, many of the vintage plastic toys that I'm using in the casting process are already showing signs of deterioration and will eventually be lost forever to time, except for those few objects cast permanently in bronze. These small bronze sculptures represent a cryptic one way communication with anyone in the future who might come across them, and I'm inviting you to join the discussion and become its temporary steward to that distant future conversation.
