Description: Offered is a vintage and rare Tell City Cabinetmaker’s Sample that can be used as a table lamp and/or jewelry or storage box/chest, item no. 3314. From a Tell City catalog, “Years ago, furniture salesmen carried miniature samples of their products to sell from. Often these miniatures were the masterpieces by which an apprentice proved his worth to become a journeyman cabinetmaker. This version has intricate detail, including a swelled front. Five drawers with felt-lined bottoms.” The cabinet base measures 12-1/4”H x 11”W x 6”D (7”D including the lamp adaptation piece on the back side). If used as a lamp, measures approximately 36-1/2”H. The lamp parts have been disassembled from the chest since it was used as a jewelry chest, but the lamp rod with socket was tested and is in good working order. Made of solid hard rock Maple in #48 Andover finish. Includes original factory label. Nice preowned condition with minimal age appropriate wear (see photos).
