Objects found in everyday life from a can opener, needle & thread, plants and animals dead and alive to priceless human cultural treasures held in The National Museum of Scotland to The Met in NYC are all featured. The accompanying book is a poetic, exploratory read of each card's meanings and possibilities. The images are hand drawn with pencil, marker, ink washes and finalized in photoshop. The back of the cards feature a section of tree trunk print - a visual representation of lived growth - that was relief printed. There is a hand, a foot and an eye but nothing more of the human from than those ethnically non-defined, non-gendered or sex specific areas depicted in the deck. Eyes are symbols of vision, hands for dexterity and feet for grounding. Equality of spiritual essence is afforded to the wing of a moth, the palm of a human hand, a snake, can opener or the petal of a flower. The deck includes 78 cards 2.75" x 4.75" (70mm x 120mm) printed on 400gsm matte laminated card stock that feels sturdy and glide smoothly in the hand.
