Description: USS Ward (DD-139) commissioning pennant. She was a Wickes class destroyer in the United States Navy. She served in both WWI and WWII. Reclassified and designated APD-16 for WWII. The date on it is December 8, 1941 which is the day after her involvement in Pearl Harbor. She was sunk exactly 3 years later on December 7, 1944. This is original and authentic.Measures 41 inches length and 3.5 inches width.Vintage. A portion of the tail end is torn off and missing. Has wear from age and use, such as stains, discoloration, and fading. No repairs or restorations.From the collection of a man who worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Northern California.
