Description: This mini perfume bottle of Joy by Jean Patou has never been opened and contains the original formula of Joy (now discontinued). Joy was first released in 1930 as a direct response to the beginning of the great depression. Jean Patou wanted to create "the costliest perfume in the world" after the 1929 Wallstreet Crash. Patou wanted to create a luxury perfume in the face of economic collapse, so he enlisted famed French perfumer Henri Almeras to create "Joy" from the highest quality of raw materials. Each ounce of "Joy" is made from 10600 jasmine blooms (jasminum grandiflorum grown only in Grasse ith Southern France) and 28 dozen roses (The Bulgarian damascene rose and Rose de Mai from Grasse). This particular bottle has never been opened and comes in its original box. The box is lightly damaged with some stains, scratches and peeling. However the box is still functional and the interior is in perfect condition. The bottle itself is in near perfect condition with only minor scratching on the top.
