Vintage 1980 BIJAN Brass Tree with Porcelain Birds Wall Sculpture Foldable

Description: Listed for sale here is a rare mid century modern Bijan brass tree adorned with five 3D porcelain birds. The sculpture is stamped with a signature and date on the trunk "Bijan 1980". It measures approximately 34" long and about 17" tall at one point. This is a beautiful sculpture. The porcelain birds are in pristine condition. They have gold painted beaks and small black painted dots for eyes.They are fastened to the brass base with plastic mounts and are able to be rotated.The polished surface of the brass tree branch is mostly shiny with some patination. It is a bit heavy for such a delicately produced work of art. The sculpture comes with two mounting points on the back that are sturdy enough to bear the weight.There are two integral hinges that allow the sculpture to conform to curved surfaces. The mounting points for the porcelain birds are some kind of plastic and are in a degraded state. One has already twisted off. It looks as though all of the screws that keep the sculpture together have been replaced. The sculpture has ben disassembled for easier shipping. Each piece of the sculpture is marked with a number of dots impressed into the brass. This should make reassembly easy if one uses the pictures above for reference.
