Vintage Grandma Moses Fabric By Galerie St. Etienne NYC-Barkcloth 23.5”x17” READ

Description: Read please : (no returns) Up for consideration is a vintage 1950s Grandma Moses “By Galerie St Etienne New York City” (as it was new in 1954) barkcloth fabric handcrafted pillowcase. The measurements are approx 23.5 long x 17” wide -doubled because two sides of pillowcase. Vat dyed and “shrunktized” .One end of case sewn together other open. There are some wear tears in the fabric in several places. I tried to photo each one. Although hard to see a few because of material. There are two sides of pillowcases as I said. Each side has a condition issue. But not horrible. There are two sewn seams across top and bottom. One issue is larger tear in bottom left under base of tree; and on middle right on brick color Galerie; a tear on back side top left ; and on back a tear at seamed corner top right; small tear middle top on small brick house on both sides, each has small tear by small brick house;other side has small tear top right. Ultimately this vintage Grandma Moses barkcloth piece is still a wonderful piece for repurposing and or framing. The fabric was hand washed in Borax to clean after being stored for years. It still has vibrant colors. Its just a wonderful grandma Moses piece of folk art fabric. This is an old pillowcase but the material is perfect for repurposing. Selling “as is as shown”.
