Description: Offering a vintage 1940's - 1950's sterling silver linked panels bracelet from Mexico. This bracelet is comprised of six ornate rectangles hinged to each other. It measures 8" in length and 7/8" in width. On each of the six silver rectangles perches a cabochon mounted abalone tip / nub. Unlike most abalone jewelry which uses flat pieces of inlay, the artist here chose pieces that are all pointed like little hills. This is extremely rare in abalone jewelry and top of the line workmanship. Probably each one comes from the spiral shaped top of the abalone shell, called the apex. Each one is different in complex color pattern and shows the natural rough pocked surface of the shell, but each piece in identical to the next in height. Bracelet weight is 34.6 grams and is in good condition with no damage just light wear. Slide in box lock works very well and the makers stamp is here. The artisan mark is a complex one and I can only read parts of it. Sterling Mexico is visible. Hecho en Mexico is visible. There is a cartouche that I cannot make out except for 2 letters above it which look like - IC. FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING!
