Description: Item description This is a poster advertising an auction of many of the estate items of the property at 78 Concord Street, Nashua, NH. It is most likely from 1920, as this was the residence of Judge Judge Charles W. Hoitt, who had the house built c.1896 and lived there until 1922 (as per the Nashua Historical Society). The poster mentions no year, but the Thursdays and Fridays on those dates in November occurred in 1915, 1920, 1926, 1928, 1937, and later, so it seems reasonable to assume he was emptying out the house near the end of his residency there - 1922. Of course, the Langdell's of Wilton NH were in the auction business for several generations (and a barn still stands in Wilton with their name on it). The poster is mounted in a polycarbonite (or some such plastic frame), altho it is only snapped into place and the poster is not glued or otherwise adhered to the backing paper, so a new frame would do it merit, and it is easily removed from this frame. It is in very good condition, with only some edge wear and a mild crease mid-way across the middle. The color is a sepia tone, with bright and crisp printing. The poster measures 19" by 27 1/2".
