Description: This OUTSTANDING cotton 1850's/1860's red, green, and cheddar whig rose variation quilt is all hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a traditional four block configuration and border on two ends.It measures 62" X 72" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, faint spots and no wear. There is diamond quilting throughout at 8 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is a classic solid red, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light. The quilt came out of NW Ohio.
