Description: Winchester Model 70 & 54, Remington 700 6-48 Receiver Plug Screws: These are new 6-48 Blued plug screws that will fill the holes in the top of the receiver or the side peep sight holes on the Winchester model 54, Model 70, Remington rifles and all other manufacturers that use a 6-48 thread. OAL is 0.123 inches. There are 2 styles: Plug Screws with Stop are made so that the screw stops as it is tightened. These are most commonly installed by the manufacturers and are in the first picture. Once installed they may be slightly above the surrounding metal on some applications. Plug screws without stop can be recessed below the metal surface to the bottom of the threads. See my pictures for examples of both styles installed on a pre64 model 70.
