Description: This is an original new old stock RAF D type leather flying glove, size 7 1/2. The size is not stated on the label but is indicated by the 22C number of 986. It is a single left hand glove. These gloves were used by all RAF Bomber and Fighter crews in the latter years of the war. If you are trying to match this with another glove bear in mind that all gloves were issued as a separate left and right. They were made for men to do a job and, as has been said, all gloves are the same colour at night when these young men went to work. The glove is beautifully soft and supple with only the expected signs of age and a very clean wool lining. The label has been sewn in and is very clear with the manufacturers ink stamp, contract number, reference number, the word Resistances as well as the Broad Arrow. Please note the glove is a darker colour than shown in the photographs. This is an absolutely genuine World War II RAF glove in new, old stock condition - very soft, very clean. I am selling other left hand gloves which with two would look fantastic held in the hand or tucked down the side of the boot. An affordable glove for re-enacting and display. Please note I send to all countries worldwide except Italy. Contact me for the postage charge where it is not stated for your country. Sefton Clothing Company are pleased to able to offer this item for sale.
