Description: Zenith 6S229 Repro Black Gasket 6-3/4 inchFits Zenith Radios with Chassis 5638 including6S203 6S222 6S223 6S229 6S239 6S241 6S275 This "Buy-it-Now" sale is for one new reproduction mounting gasket for Zenith radios with chassis #5638 that use the round convex glass with nominal diameter 6-3/4 inch. See model numbers above that use this chassis.Outer diameter of the gasket is ~7.15 inch and inner diameter is ~6.4 inch. The 3 slots in the gasket are spaced 120 degrees apart and are intended to mate with the 3 metal tabs on the dial that position the dial scale and the glass. The gasket is CNC machined from black paper/foam/paper composite poster board and is about 1/8 inch thick. It matches the 3 mounting tabs on the front of the radio dial and allows the glass to sit on a resilient surface and raises the glass to reduce the probability of interference with the tuning dial pointer. The gasket is placed on the dial, then the glass, then the two fastening clips are attached with machine screws to secure the glass. Glass and clips not included.
